Carmageddon 2 Patch Windows 7
EDIT: You can now find a way to make Carmageddon 2 run on Vista - with sound and all - in the thread 'How to run Carmageddon 2 on Windows Vista' - here http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=20780 .
It runs perfectly in direct3d mode and not quite so perfectly in Glide mode with some weird weird graphics errors and occassional crashes. (It doesn't even consider running in direct draw mode).
Common to both working modes however is that none of them has any sound at all - not in the intro sequence, not in the menus, not when driving, not at any time. No music either.
Does anyone now how to fix this? I absolutely loove this game and have already completed the first five stages with no sound - but it would be nice also to have the classic screaming and crashing sounds.. Aaah the memories
My sound card is a generic 'Realtek High Definition Audio'.
Running Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10. --Try using the patch described in this YouTube video. Do not run file verification from your Steam library on Carmageddon. This is the latest official patch for Carmageddon 2. Remember to back up your modded files (esp. OPPONENT.TXT, RACES.TXT) before extracting the archive content. I Just got my beloved Carmageddon 2 running on my Vista laptop using dgvoodoo.- How can i install the cd-rom version in windows 7. Will never be a config. Updating nglide however is something i could do for carmageddon max pack but the problem with carmageddon 2 is a different story. I got it working by using the new executables with the original files from the cd. Perhaps the patch contains a broken file somewhere.
- Three easy steps to play Carmageddon 2 on Windows XP: a) Install the game. That the problem is that there is no option for choosing the hardware video card installed although the drivers and the patch for the game are correctly installed. Please help me to Drive again this really Awesome Hawk.
